The Messenger Who Discovered the System
Dr. Rashad Khalifa (1935 – 1990)
In 1969, Dr. Rashad Khalifa digitized the Quran, unaware that he was on the verge of a historic discovery. When he uncovered the mathematical structure of the Quran coded with the number 19 in 1974, it initially seemed like just an academic finding. However, what he had discovered was a miraculous system showing that God's word was mathematically sealed.
Too Perfect to Be Coincidence
The numerical harmony behind this discovery points to a divine plan:
Such precise alignment cannot be explained by chance.
Life Journey
Born in Egypt in 1935, Rashad Khalifa pursued a Ph.D. in biochemistry in the United States. He worked at the United Nations and served as a scientific advisor to Libyan leader Gaddafi. Despite his father being a Sufi leader in Egypt, Rashad focused on scientific research.
After his 1974 discovery, his books and articles attracted worldwide attention. He was invited to speak at conferences in the Middle East and was listened to by academics and politicians alike.
Reformist Stand
Yet, Rashad's real struggle was just beginning. He argued that hadith and sunnah teachings were being equated with the Quran, distorting the essence of Islam. This stance cost him dearly—he lost popularity, and his friends turned against him.
In 1977, he converted his home into the Tucson Mosque and developed a different approach:
The Final Blow
In 1985, his removal of the last two verses of Surah 9—believing they were later additions—triggered intense backlash. In 1989, he was sentenced to death by a 38-member international religious council based in Saudi Arabia.
On the morning of January 31, 1990, he was stabbed to death at the Tucson Mosque before morning prayer. His killers were affiliated with a terrorist group called "Al-Fuqra," which was later linked to the 1993 World Trade Center bombing.
Lasting Legacy
Dr. Rashad Khalifa's discovery opened a new chapter in religious understanding by demonstrating that the Quran is preserved through a mathematical system. Today, thousands of Quran students around the world continue along the path he paved.
The life of Rashad Khalifa is a testament to the cost of pursuing truth—and the necessity of paying that cost. The mathematical miracle of the Quran lies not in the man, but in the divine preservation of God's Book.

All praise and thanks are due to God who has willed that His miracle of the Quran shall be revealed at this time.
He has distinguished the following individuals and blessed them by revealing through them many portions of this momentous discovery:
"The mathematical miracle of the Quran was not the work of one person, but a collective effort guided by divine will."
May God bless all who contributed to this magnificent discovery
and may their efforts be a means of guidance for humanity.
A Witness From the Children of Israel
"Proclaim: 'What if it is from God, and you disbelieved in it? A witness from the Children of Israel has borne witness to a similar phenomenon, and he has believed, while you have turned too arrogant to believe. God does not guide the wicked.'"
[Quran 46:10]
The 12th Century Discovery by Rabbi Judah the Pious
"The people [Jews] in France made it a custom to add [in the morning prayer] the words: 'Ashrei temimei derekh [blessed are those who walk the righteous way],' and our Rabbi, the Pious, of blessed memory, wrote that they were completely and utterly wrong. It is all gross falsehood, because there are only nineteen times that the Holy Name is mentioned [in that portion of the morning prayer]... and similarly you find the word 'Elohim nineteen times in the pericope of Ve-'elleh shemot... Similarly, you find that Israel were called 'sons' nineteen times, and there are many other examples. All these sets of nineteen are intricately intertwined, and they contain many secrets and esoteric meanings, which are contained in more than eight large volumes... Furthermore, in this section there are 152 (19×8) words..."
